With this package of glutinous rice you can prepare the traditional sweets and japanese. Unlike other types of rice, the glutinous rice becomes very sticky when it is combined with the hot water, this makes it the perfect spot to prepare the mochi. Try to prepare the ohagi, the sekihan and other dishes of mochi. Lavare the rice under cold running water until the water is almost clear. Put the sweet rice in a bowl and cover with fresh water. Let stand for 12 hours or overnight, then drain it. Spread the sweet rice in a thin layer and is uniform on a colander, a sieve, or a rack and steam, covered with a cloth. Cover with lid and cook in boiling water for 25 minutes. Sprinkle lightly with salt, then steam for a further 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and traslucedo. If necessary, add boiling water to steam. 1 cup of uncooked rice sweet makes about 2 cups of cooked rice.
