Anko yude azuki red bean jam - 470 gr
Out-of-Stock
Jar of pre-cooked sweet red azuki beans. These azuki beans have been slightly sweetened with sugar and are pre-boiled ready to use. Usually if purchased not ready they should be left soaking and then boiled and the procedure would usually take a long time, so using this azuki bean preparation you have a practical way to quickly prepare stuffed sweets and sweet side dishes. Red azuki beans are often eaten in a hot soup with kirimochi rice cakes (which you can find on our Domechan shop) in Japan during the winter months, as an end to a meal or snack. The most popular types of soup are called oshiruko and zenzai and are often served in traditional and quiet tea rooms. Try it on ice cream too!

Chinese Fortune Cookies - 6 g
Out-of-Stock
Fortune cookies are cookies of American origin and crispy, usually prepared with flour, sugar, vanillin and oil. Inside the sweets are hidden the "fortunes", that is small pieces of paper that bear motets and prophetic or divine phrases. In the United States and Canada (as in other parts of the Western world) it is usually served as a dessert in Chinese restaurants. Inside messages can also include a list of lucky numbers (used by some, such as lottery numbers) or a phrase with Chinese translation or a rule to follow for a success in a given field.  The exact provenance of fortune cookies is unclear, but various immigrant groups in California claim to have advertised the product in the early 20th century, basing their recipe on that of traditional Japanese crackers.
